COVID-19 and the Entertainment Industries in Nigeria

This paper examines not only on the socio-economic implication of lockdown practitioners in entertainment industry namely cinema halls, live performances, and film industries among others, but also it explores ways E-entertainment was being introduced especially music drama industry. With orchestrated by Covid-19 pandemic outbreak Nigeria, show lovers were entertained through E-concerts, drive theatre television shows like Owambe Pepsi Dance Party that showed every weekend with audience responding face book, Instagram WhatsApp platforms others. The research method is qualitative analytical. study employed a survey data collection to gather relevant material from published unpublished materials hard soft copies which included online materials. analyzed mixed-method, involved description, explanation, translation, interpretation. result COVID-19 impacted negatively industry, bringing halt performer/audience physical participation interaction lot reduction progress entertainers depends their for finance.
